The Urban Retreat

This rare detached house with a backyard breaks from Hong Kong’s dense urban mold. Originally narrow and low-ceilinged, the home was reimagined with light, openness, and flow in mind.

Clean lines and see-through elements—open shelving, a central island, and an airy staircase—invite natural light and visual continuity. Three-sided windows draw in the outdoors, blurring boundaries and expanding the sense of space.

In the master bedroom, the stairwell becomes part of the room, removing barriers and introducing vertical depth. Every design choice guides the eye outward, allowing the home to breathe—fluid, quiet, and free.
