The Layered Living Studio

In this compact 30-square-meter studio unit, we explored vertical expansion and functional integration to enrich both usability and visual layering within a limited footprint.

Through careful planning and spatial calibration, the living and dining areas were merged with a lounge zone and a raised bar counter that serves dual purposes—dining and working. Changes in flooring material subtly define each zone, creating a sense of depth and differentiation.

The elevated sleeping area conceals a storage and dressing space below, resolving the challenge of limited storage. This built-in volume aligns flush with the bathroom partition to maintain a clean visual plane. Light-toned wood finishes contrast with dark accent walls and reflective surfaces, striking a balance between heaviness and lightness—resulting in a space that feels both grounded and open.
